I want to start incubating and, like keeping chickens. I think a small 7 or 8 one will end up being too small but I know I don't want to hatch loads so.......  I have seen an Suro Rcom20 1 year old for £110  or a  2 yr old Fiem Smart 20 for £50........  which would you buy and why?

I have had 18 LF eggs in it, got a few good results with it, had it a few years now (you could fit more bantam eggs in it though)

I think it is a good starter, but I dont know how many birds you want

Thanks for the info......  I have seen these and they seem good value  but I was unsure as they seem inexpensive and from China  and I couldn't find any review.. I only want to hatch between 10 and 20

I wouldnt knock it because it comes from China, a lot of them over there use them (I saw them when I was there and I was impressed with them) that's why I bought one

Raising hens even in Beijing is a popular hobby, if they got a scrap of a garden you will find a couple of hens scratching about

If you did buy it and wasnt happy you could put it back on ebay, when they appear as an auction they go pretty quick and dont lost much money (you could use it, then sell it if you want, a bit cheeky, but hey ho  )
