I'm innocent M'Lud......... honest

I kid you not Growster, this bramble was possessed by dark forces    It survived mutiple strimmings, diggings out, weedkiller nuking sessions................even now it sends out the odd spine laden tendril, which now has grass to hide it, so it can grow long enough to snare me as I womble past with the wheelbarrow  >:(

'tis evil I tells yer

I've got one of those in my lawn - has come up through my nice new seeded grass after I'd done my best to dig it out permanently  >:(
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Growster and I will quietly commiserate Yorky.  As Growster too has learnt

New, vigorous blackberry brambles grow from a piece left in the ground, about 1/8th inch long.

I think 1/8th inch is an overestimate personally  ;)

Of course, you're right News!

I hear that you can get a free microscope with every tin of 'Bramblenuke', because you'll need it to see to get the blasted things out for good, as you say...

My two lessons

1. Replacing all of the soil in the greenhouse is very hard work (getting rid of all of the soil was a bit like in the film "The Great Escape - I was spreading it everywhere).
2. Replacing all of the soil in the greenhouse produces better crops.

Perfect answer Spring!

Did you have those special trouser bags then? And, after all that replacing, did you get bumped off the Escape Committee?

;0)

Two 10 pole plots do not look very big when covered with brambles
20 pole is a lot to dig when you are the only one doing it. :(
Roses have huge roots!  :tongue2:
