Thank goodness we are not the only ones who tread poo into the house!! :D. i will warn you, you wont be able to run around bare foot in the summer, and you will have to keep a little pair of jelly shoes/wellies for the little one when she plays in the garden as chickens poop ALOT .
I built my own coops, having never done anything before and it was easy....i have just made a little broody coop and i cant wait to post pictures of it, im so proud of it....if i can build a coop anyone can :D

It can, but if too fresh can burn plants and roots.  Its very high in nitrogen I think.  I put as much of ours as I can on the compost heap, but our poo pile at the moment is bigger than the compost bins!!!   :D :D

The Eglu Go is perfect for an urban space ... and plastic coops are really easy to keep clean. The run needs to be extended for three hens, but if you can afford it, it comes with pretty much everything you need, feeders, drinkers and so on, so that it doesn't work out too expensive by comparison.

And having someone come and set it up for you gives you a huge sense of confidence about keeping hens, too :)

two daughters, nine hens, two goldfish, three cats ...
