feeding
« on: June 11, 2009, 01:23 »
I know I have read it somewhere but can't find it.

Nitrogen is good for what bits of the plant?

What does Chicken poo come under i.e. nitrogen feed, phosphate or neither or both?

Chicken poo dissolved in water what can that be used on benefically:
Raspberries, Strawberries, Blueberries, lettuce, onion, courgette, potatoes, spring onion, cabbage, self blanching leek, tomatoes when in flower or when in fruit or before either.

Same question about tomato food:

These are the only two feeds I have at the mo' so really thats all I would like to know about  for now, thanks for any help.

Nitrogen makes plants grow - the leafy bits

Chicken manure is in the ratio 46% Nitrogen, 33% Phosphate and 21% Potassium

Tomato food is rich in Potassium - usually in the ratio 25% Nitrogen and Phosphate and 50% Potassium
