straggly delphiniums

straggly delphiniums

any help for my delphiniums which are in pots in the polytunnel, but v spindly. can i cut them back and hope for new growth thats a bit lower and bushier now that its getting lighter? could i take cuttings from this growth too without harming the parent plant? thanks? oh, or shall i just plant them out now?

I'd be tempted to harden them off over the next week and get them outside  :)

Mine were straggly too. 7 weeks since they came up and they were only about an inch high and very thin. I have just given in and bought 84 plugs from T&M for £12.95 free postage. My friend wants them for wedding flowers next summer so I can't afford to mess about/take any risks. Not grown them before  :ohmy: Just have to pick the right spot now and raise it up with compost and a bit of sand so they don't go rotten in the wet...
