As novices to plots, my wife and I are going to grow tomatoes - either "Tumble" or "Cascade", in baskets hanging around the outside of our greenhouse.
Can you help us decide an argument about whether to put one, two or three plants in a 14 inch basket.
PS We have noted somebody's advice to let the roots go down through the bottom of the basket

Does it recommend any spacing on your packet?

I think i would only put 1 plant in a 14" basket as you'll be surprised how much top growth you get with all those lovely tomatoes on them.

I always do 2 plants in a big basket, and 1 in a smaller one, keep them well fed and watered and I get loads it really works!

2 one iether side in a big 14 in basket .. 1 in a smaller water every day feed twice a week

I put three in a basket last year and it was far too many.
One per basket this year!
