Ive just been quoted £21 for 250kg of compost. Is that a good price?

Also why is compost sold in litres in the shops, and not kg, as it is a solid?

How many kg are 150 litres?

You need to know the actual density of the material to link volume to weight but a general guide would be somewhere between 450-530kg/m3 of compost which would weigh between 67.5 and 79.5 kg for 150 litres.

Thats a toughie
I pay about £6 for 150 or 125 litres from B&Q, but thats quite compressed
I can carry that, just.

I'd be tempted to say its about the same £/kg, so you might find cheaper, but if its delivered, yeah why not.

I can carry 150 litres but it's nowhere near 70kg maybe nearer 20kg? £21 for 250kg seems like a good deal to me.

I was going to say. To carry 70kg you must work out a hell of a lot.

My guess would be a 75 Ltr bag would weigh about 30Kg approx. I usually pay £10 for 4 bags.So would say thats about the right price.
