They are playing in the rain. Am keeping an eye on Rosie, hopefully she'll pick up in the next few days.  Thought I was one of the nutty ones :D

Can we PLEASE get back  to the forum of a week ago, the one that I joined because it was fun and intresting, the one I joined and found friends.

We are all different & do different things. We don't hurt anyone or anything, if we were all the same it would be very boring :D

I have to entirely agree with Vember. I joined this site as it is fun, friendly and a great source of not only advice but support that is invaluable for us newbies. I agree that all opinions are valuable and debate and disagreement is important in learning new ideas and challenging our views and preconceptions however I am suprised that the author seemed defensive at the strength of feeling in the responses to a fairly provocative thread given the general tone of this forum. I love my ducks, they add a great deal to my life in terms of joy, relaxation and eggs! Curiously it is only my friends who refer to them as my babies. I am attached to them as they bring me pleasure just watching them and am really enjoying the virtual company of likeminded people. I chose not to join the poultry site that banned chat and frivolity but there is a site out there for everyone.
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

I think this topic has now reached its natural end so I have locked it again.

I think the feelings of the members have been stated clearly by both sides of the discussion.
