Thats such a shame as they looked fab. Veg really needs to be less fussy and just do what its meant to do. It would make life so much easier  ;)

They're not dead yet BQ   ;)

They were busy doing what they do and doing it very well, it was when I interfered and started to look after them when the problems arose  :nowink:  I've already had more cukes this year than I have for the past 6 seasons combined.  :tongue2:

I agree with BQ, stop moaning. We haven't had any yet, the first flowers have only just started coming. :)

Google says too much water too - but Im struggling to believe it.
Never let the water touch the stems (I grow them on a bit of a mound) or the stems will die.

I agree with Aunt Sally grow them on a mound, you will still get one or two which die anyway but it offers the best chance of survival.      Last year tried growing in a pot within the bucket one loved it the other one died almost immediately.    No idea why one died but just put it down to it being Cucumbers.      I would reccomend mini-cucs as they are just the right size for 2/3 in a salad with no waste and none  leftover in the fridge.
Do you really need al that lettuce/

It's not stem rot, they're in halos on flower buckets, only the reservoirs are watered. Whilst I was down there taking a picture I took the opportunity to lift up the buckets, they seem very light for the compost to be too wet...

This is increasingly looking like the feed I was using (Verve tomato feed). I've swapped to a different brand and while they still look sorry for themselves, cukes are starting to form again.  I bought the verve stuff last year does it have a shelf life?
