Thought I knew most weeds - but...
« on: April 22, 2011, 17:35 »
My neighbour has something that has appeared which may be a weed - I have no pic as yet. It has a short stem so far, with leaves which grow in a form similar to a hydrangea or tall campanula but they are slightly velvety, mid-green and have serrated edges. On digging one up, it has a rhizome like couch grass or lily-of-the-valley and looks rather invasive.! Any ideas.?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

A website someone on the forum posted the other week, should help you identify it :)

I had the nasty thought it could be ground elder but the leaves aren't shiny and have a downy feel. Will go and get a pic. It has rhizomes with little roots at the nodules. Had a look at the weed site but not there as far as I can tell.
