the problem is that though widely used for worming the product has not been properly tested for it's effects on poultry (at the moment the only thing tested is flubenvet) so that is why they say 8 weeks just incase the medication can pass through the hen into the egg and therefor into you.
Staffies are softer than you think.

I do know that if a chook's been on antibiotics you can't eat the eggs for 2 months after their last dose - I guess the same principle applies to worming medication?  But having said that, I give my girls a liquid wormer every few months and have not had any porblems with their eggs (i.e. no-one's fallen ill), so maybe it depends on the type of worm treatment?

I've just finished worming my hens with flubenvet feed and would you believe it one of them poohed right in front of me and there were tiny eggs and worms in the dropping. Live worms. I can only think that the flubenvet feed has 'gone off'.

im not trying say anything here but if your chooks haven't been wormed for a while they might have been infested and mite need another corse of worming treatment, ive always used fubenvet layer pellets and never had a problem, but they do have a "use by date"on them

I wormed them in November with half a 20kg bag using the rest this time. I've ordered a 10kg bag now so I use it all at once.

The infested poo may well have been the wormer working which it does by expelling the offending larvae and eggs!
