Spent the morning converting plum tomatoes into tomato sauce.
This afternoon Dug up my wind damaged Jerusalem artichoke - decent but small crop!
Cleared some ex onion/potato beds and put weed control fabric down. Dug in rotted manure first. Collected some more Desiree spuds - great crop. Picked more plum tomatoes. Enjoyed the sunshine and chatted to the neighbours.
The free crop of fartychokes will be good next year though  :D
I cook therefore I grow

Watered in the greenhouse, harvested beans and toms and hubby dug over the bed that the corn have come out of.
At home - erected the new shelving in the utility room (which is actually greenhouse staging from a wilko plastic job) ready for the squashes that will be harvested in the next few weeks.

Rest of spuds dug up - 3 buckets full
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Started to strip of the blight ridden French beans - took home a bin bag full which is all I had space for.

Gave the Jerusalem artichoke hedge another prune.

Cut a few more leaves back from the squashes

Covered the sweet potatos with some clear plastic

Wow Billy's a big boy.

Not being able to get down for ages, managed twice today- cycled from work in lunchhour and sat around in the Sun, no one was around and it was so quiet ...until my husband popped down to see me and asked why my plot wasn't as tidy as some of the old retired fella's straight line plots!!! Sigh

Got down at sunset to potter- weeded some, fox seems to have packed up and left so shovelled dirt about to reduce the den mound and keep it that way.  Filled new pond, pulled beets for neighbours and last of the borlotties  :(.. Spotted lacy leaves on my swedes....flea beatle?
Admired my tiny baby butternuts, found some medium sized NZ buttercup pumkins hiding and another massive QBlue.  Why did I give up so much space to pumpkins?

Dug up some spuds. They've been amazing this year. Today's largest one was 990g, easily the biggest potato I've ever grown

Do you water them? I have had the worst year! Slow and small.  Beginning to think I need to give them more attention when it's dry.

Picked another 10 lbs Alicante, most of which are split and trimmed off more of the leaves as the plants are now showing signs of blight. Friday will see us harvesting the surviving fruit and pulling up the plants. Plotfather has made me a greenhouse work bench from a set of old bunk beds my grand daughters have finished with, after my own children finished with them first!!!!! Talk about getting your money's worth.  :)
