We planned to do a lot but in reality got nothing done, the morning was spent indoors with very heavy rain, florence burst out in hives again just as the rain stopped. So by the time we spoke to hospital and kept her indoors for the two hour window she needs hubby got in about an hour on the plot. I stayed home and watched the little ones.

I have made som crab apple jelly but i would rather have been on the plot. I am sure someone upstairs is trying to keep me away

Used free bark chippings to renew path near rhubarb. Moved half of manure into new double compost bin made by hubby. Area under manure last bit of allotment not dug over so hoping to start digging next week between work.
Watered cauli that are finally growing and couple are lovely and white  :) :)

Pushed a wheelbarrow of manure and another of soil improver up the hill to the plot.  Spread the manure on the strawberry bed and the put the soil improver in a dumpy bag for later.

It was a really nice day here and sun was out so decided that I should dig out the rest of the potatoes and laid them out to harden up a bit, cleaned up bits and pieces then planted out my garlic 'Christo' and some wintering onion sets. Fingers crossed at this point. Picked the tomatoes that were ripened. All in all a very good day. Good times...

Composted the Cucumber plants that are now spent. Weed controlled what is now a spare bed, and won't be needed again until early summer. Hubby did some weeding, and then harvested some runner beans and perpetual spinach.

Spent the whole morning foraging for Sloes & Blackberries. Slightly prickled / scratched but a wonderful morning in glorious weather.

I have been clearing toms in the greenhouse today - picked the last of the green for ripening indoors.

Oh regarding that - to note - change the banana at regular intervals ::) found 1/2 my toms gone mouldy as the banana had become a pile of fluff! ::) :(

Planting overwintering salad in the greenhouse in the clear spaces.

Lost patience with the brassica netting tunnel and pulled it off and stuffed it in the shed. >:(  Things are still getting eaten inside it and the kale that is outside looks better than the ones inside.  >:(  Only one of the sprouting broccolli has sprouted, the rest are just green leaves, and the hispi seedlings are skeletons.  >:( So no more brassicas this year, hmph!
Harvested the last 15 cucumbers, that made me feel better ;) and found a sweet dumpling that was hiding :)
Tried an apple but it was still not ready.

Cycled to the plot in my lunch hour and picked some harvest items (Pumpkins/squash/beans/flowers) for the school Chaplain as she was disappointed with her harvest display.  Watered around a bit.  Planned some more.

It was a tricky cycle back to school with a heavy basket.....

Emptied some of the tomato pots and mixed them with manure before digging into my soil. Covered the dug over area with weed suppression fabric (thick)! Off for a shower.
