Mowed the grass paths, harvested new potatoes  and broccoli  then onions and shallots (most of which were riddled with onion fly maggots  . Admired then picked some flowers from the cutting patch  and watered the little winter brassica seedlings.

watered containers, picked 1.2kg strawberries, dug up some garlic because I need the space for the summer psb I've just bought. There was a few sweet peas ready, but we are getting inspected in the next few days so I left them to look pretty.

I have a few Kale plants.   Is it too late to plant them out at this stage?   I have a bit of space after the attack of the killer caterpillars on my sprouts last week so was thiniking of popping them into the bed.  Any thoughts?

Been away at a conference with work for 2.5 days. Came home to a new gate on the plot lovingly built by hubby, harvested the first new potatoes, uncovered the sweetcorn as they are getting to tall for the netting (hopefully they are now big and strong enough and therefore won't get attacked by the pigeons. Finished the visit with the inevitable watering.

Dug up some first earlies, picked some mangtout and strawberries...........Mowed the lawns .........strimmed..............weeded ...........an a cuppa tea and chat ..................Happy Days on the lotty

Harvested the garlic crop.  Dug the first of the Ulster Classic potatoes and picked a handful of strawberries.   Watered the plot.  Assisted the runner beans in clinging on to the pole, they seem reluctant.  Gave the rampant Boston squash, courgettes and patty pan squash a comfrey feed.   OH dug away at the top of the plot, which is the last of the derelict areas we have left.  It will contain a shed, poly tunnel/ greenhouse, plus sitting area.

Planted out the kale and the pak choi.  That was the easy bit.     Tried to put netting over only to discover it was too small... wrong netting! The proper netting was at home.    Spent the rest of the afternoon trying to secure them against pigeons without the beautiful netting tunnel I had planned.
Picked another bucketful of broad beans. I think the family will mutiny soon.
