Watered. Lots. The dip tank nearest me is broken, and the best solution I could come up with was running a hose from the next one to my water butt, then filling cans from that. Unfettered joy in this heat!

Tonight's job is de-podding and freezing broad beans. To blanch or not to blanch....that is the question!

Mr S & I went down after work for him to build me a Munty frame. I bought 2 x 8ft  & 2 x 6ft poles on the way home from work. He also rotavated that bed, & I barrowed some well rotted manure onto the strip for the beans & he rotavated it in,he said I never mentioned manure in the request for help  I did but he didn't listen. Typical of visits by Mr S it is always done at warp speed & I end up very stressed & don't find it enjoyable. :(

Dug up a couple of potato plants which look like they have developed black leg.  Plenty of potatoes - just a bit small.

I cut back a perennial poppy that had gone over and did some harvesting of mange tout, strawberries, courgettes and rhubarb.

Lots of watering followed.

:) Watered parsnips and carrots 'cos they didn't get done last time, picked a handful of strawberries and raspberries, tied up toms, had a cuppa. All was delightful until plotfather had to argue with ideas that I was putting forward for next year  >:( I wouldn't mind but he doesn't have a clue about what to do unless I tell him!!!!! Also picked 1st courgette!!!!!

Watered and weeded. Then came home with more spuds and radishes together with first carrots and French beans. Planted some lettuce in the space left by the spuds!!

Hoed, watered and harvested
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Watered, trimmed the toms, uncovered the butternut from the mini polytunnel, hubby sorted the unstable waterbutt and then a quick harvest.

got the proper net up over the brassicas, with minimal damage to nearby crops.  picked more beans, dug up more potatoes and winter onions, picked more strawberries, sweet peas and cosmos.  Watered, weeded. Happy days  :)

Weeded, dug down in one bed and realised that it was bone dry over a foot down, no wonder my fruit bushes and bits looked a bit rough.

Out came the hose again. The soil has cracks like canyons in it.

Did a bit of weeding and watering and picked some strawberries.  Tied up the unruly tall peas again.

OH helped another plotholder split some pallets with his new pallet destroyer.   He got some wood for the shed project in exchange.

Had a chat with our new plot neighbour who is from Malawi.   He is growing grain amaranth and mustard greens, both of which are new to me and look interesting.  I will see how they turn out.

It was a lovely day.

Watered in the greenhouse, harvested a little, and then spent almost an hour chatting to the plot neighbours.
