Just dropped of some potting compost, to cold to do anything. :(

To cold, just dropped of cane and netting.

Complete washout today.  Packed a lunch for me and my four year old and traipsed up to the plot straight after dropping my five year old at school.

Arrived and unloaded and the clouds opened - hail storm!

Put a big roll of debris netting into the allotment shop ready for this weekend, did a count up of the float and then locked the shop back up, when the clouds opened again - torrential rain!

Ran to the GH with little one and sheltered in there.  Rain stopped and we came out of GH, I picked up the spade and turned over four turfs when my little one decided he needed a pee.  Sorted him out and then the rain started again - torrential again!

A plot neighbour then invited us back to theirs for a hot cuppa and a chat - so we escaped!

I will try again tomorrow.....

I got withdrawal symptoms so bought 3 strawberry plants for 79p each in asda, they already have fruit on, planted them with the other hundred strawberries in the front garden. As most of the transplants from the plot are alpines or wild, some full sized strawberries wont go amiss.

You'll be drowning in them before you know it, I keep looking out at the garden and thinking of the four large beds and two alpine beds up the plot and wondering what I was thinking. Is there such a thing as too many strawberries

Hehe I said that a few years ago but I have a jam maker now to help eat some.
Hoping for a good year this year I don remember taking a single strawberry last year they didn't ripen at all and those that were near got eaten by slugs.
What do you think of your wild strawberries I have just started some off today. I have alpines and normal but the wild looked nicein the pic

Topped up my trial no dig bed with a good few inches of straw. Realised I have made an epic fail with the grass clipping as there were 1000s of dandelion heads in it that have now gone white :'(

Weeded out half the nettles from the strawberry bed I inherited with the plot. Despite 2 heavy doses of Wilko Glyphosate they were very much still alive just the old growth had gone yellow. Once I've finished weeding I'm going to mulch with straw and hope for the best this season. over winter I might dig the whole bed over if I get chance

Weeded a very small area in the community tunnel. Oh my god how long did it take, a whole bucket of tiny weeds gone. Planted toms and pulled up two lettuce for a neighbour.

There might be in my house... I made a new strawberry bed (6 rows with 12 plants in each), brought some spare plants home to grow in the veg plot at my parents place and then....... failed to lift the old plants in original bed on the allotment due to lack of time.

Jam!! (If we're lucky with the weather)

Went down to water the newly planted cabbage and caulis and various seedlings as the wind is so strong it's drying everything out quickly.
