Can anyone tell me please if there grow Kestrel Potato’s as I was giving some yesterday. there were small about the size of Jersey Royal’s would there grow any bigger or if there did will there lose the taste. The lad I got them off had  growing them in barrel’s he set them away in January in the greenhouse

The bigger the better for me.

I let them grow to maturity. They make great mash & roast & baked spuds.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I'm growing Kestrel this year because I saw my plot neighbour digging his up last year and they were huge, he gave me a couple to sample and they baked fantastically.
   I'd read elsewhere that the kestrel were'nt good for mashing DD so was very pleased to see your reply saying that they were, I loves mashed potato and the less spuds I have to peel for a family size pan of mash the better, BRING ON THE KESTRELS :) :) :lol:

Tank you for your comment’s we will be having them for tea tomorrow with bacon &    Spring Cabbage Durham Elf. With butter over them. :D

The British Potato Council says they are a good a round spud and make good chips early in the season.
