I spent the afternoon sorting out the greenhouse and washing pots and modules out - ready for all the compost I've just ordered  ::)

Took 8 slabs down the lottie that I got for free. There  to go on the ground in the blowaway greenhouse. its got is wood chippings in there are present and  it has woodlice and slugs in it, white mold in places.
I can sweep the slabs and wash them with Jeyes fluid.  :)

Dug over about half the plot- so much better than last year (my first year) digging out all that couch.  Soil panned with all that rain around the BBeans so did a gentle fork around them.
New (2nd) munty up and cardboard at bottom of bean trench.  Bring it on  :D

Finished digging a new 2m x 4m bed and bagged up all of the couch roots ready for the tip. Also planted out some lettuce seedlings out under plastic 5ltr water bottles to try my luck with an early crop (Planted too many anyway!!!) Also tidied between the garlic as the weeds have been enjoying the sun!!

Brief visit this morning. Expanded size of bed for peas and added mushroom compost mixture to it and broad bean bed along with some chicken manure. Also reconnected water butt to guttering after it was dislodged by the recent lovely weather !!

Can't wait for spring

Cheeers HH
Keep digging

Planted one cherry and one pear tree. Yum! (Fingers crossed). Built my cold frame, ready to put out some broad bean seedlings.

Squelched along the main path to my plot...

Lifted some leeks.... not so wet as I thought it would be so..... forked the area over.
Pushed the soil miller across the surface elsewhere while standing on the paths..... looks fresh and clean.  :)

A relaxing hours outing.

That white mold is probably some sort of fungi and is generally a good thing.

You could be right  if it was outside i wouldent worry about it , the chippings are going on the flower border anyway.
With slabs, the slugs wont have anywhere to hide waiting to eat my veg.   ;)
Had a wander down the lotty this morning with max, just checked on things in the greenhouse, noticed the crocus I planted as flowered, couldn't do much really as I had Max with me, I'm always worried he will eat something he shouldn't .
I'm going to the allotment hut tomorrow to buy my second early spuds, and if it's another nice day I'll lay the slabs.

Popped down with 19yr old that needed a walk and some fresh air and a borrowed Jack Russell that didn't.  She actually dug over a bed for me whilst I cleared up the shed and pottered.  Dog was shattered from earlier walk so was no trouble and just had a sniff about, whereas daughter got cold and sniffy and we had to go back early  ::)

Lovely weather this morning. Went down to plot and dug over onion bed and bean bed.
After working for a couple of hours decided it was time to pop home for lunch.
Soil pretty wet but managed to remove numerous weeds and add some chicken manure plus spent mushroom compost

Cheers HH

got to the plot at last, despite overnight rain, and the plot looking like a drained puddle, the rotovator coped well and dug a decent 6" deep, 2 hours and I turned the whole (1/2) plot over, just at the end I decided to pull the remaining brussels and brought them home to see if there was anything salvageable remaining, didnt plant anything as its still quite wet, but was impressed to see some shoots from the garlic planted a few weeks back.
