Another bucket of weeds pulled from their comfy homes.  actually it was nice early on but it soon got a bit warm for this shade baby. So hubby is off up for his turn.

went up and had a good weed, since I will be starting work tomorrow and unable to visit except evenings and weekends, strawberry bed nearly all dug over now, hand pulled the weeds in the remaining bit, so at least its tidy ish.

  We went last evening in the cool and gave everything a good soaking. I'm afraid it's got far too hot for me now......  as for the plotfather....we won't even go there

Wow, it's hot out there this morning. Quick hour at the plot to sort out some strawberry runners, weed the spinach / beetroot bed and then trim the toms in the greenhouse.
I'm away now until Tuesday night, so have to leave the plot in hubby's hands. Thankfully he only has to water the toms and cuc's (and hopefully build the new gate), not sure i'd trust him with much more than that as he has a habit of pulling veg plants out thinking they are weeds!

Watered, weeded and collected my first veg ever from my allotment

Weeding, weeding and more weeding! We also managed to plant out 12 swedes, 1 romanesco cauli, 1 pink blueberry and 7 pumpkins.

Yesterday we netted the blueberries, strawbs and planted out 8 savoy cabbage...and then netted those.

Was ruthless with the apple trees and thinned the fruit down to one apple per node, lets hope the June drop has finished, and tipped the new growth.


Then had a cup of coffee in the sunshine.

In the garden today, replanted 2 wall baskets (forgot to water them  ) trimmed the hedge and planted a lovely yellow patio rose called leon twist. Then spent the afternoon watching tennis.

Watered, watered & watered again. Not planning to irrigate again this week so gave everything a good soaking today (10L water per squash plant) by flood irrigating. Takes about 2.5 hours to do everything.

Must be mental but bought the wood to build a raised bed this morning and hubby helped me make it. Very pleased with it Went back after lunch at mum in laws to water my plants and to take ownership of two huge blue barrels with taps, some very nice thick wood planks suitable for another raised bed and an old wheelbarrow which were delivered by a colleague from work. Terribly sunburnt back and work tomorrow *sigh* roll on next weekend when I am off on my holidays
