Went to an auction [not poultry] on saturday and there were a few chickens and 7 very young Aracana chick which looked very sad and uncared for so we paid too much and bought them knowing our luck they will all be cockerels !!

When we got them home and out of the box we discovered they had patches with no feathers looked, think and their feet had balls of dried mud which was so hard we had to cut them off.

They all seem happy with each other but one poor thing had alot of sticky white stuff on its bottom and beak so we cleaned it up and put it back with the others under a heat lamp, they immediately eat and eat and eat !!

The next day they all looked alot better except the one we had cleaned up again had white on its beak and a sticky white bottom.

I have given them all Lifeguard in their water to perk them up but would like to know what the white sticky could be and if I should be treating it with something ?

Any ideas would be much appreciated because I have been through my books and cannot identify the problem.

I've no idea but someone in the know will be along shortly to help you with your poorly bird, so keep checking in as they won't have gone far
