Hello,

I just bought a whole load of Tomorite Controlled Release fertilser from B&Q (£1 per bag reduced from £6!) and was wondering if anyone had used this or other controlled release fertilisers on Toms, as oposed to e.g. liquid feed? Are the results any different/worse/better?

Funny you should say that but I was wondering why you have to give weekly liquid feeds to toms when you could use, say, rose fertiliser - or even better as you say - controlled release fertiliser. I can't think that toms would use up the food any more quickly than other hungry plants which we don't treat the same way. An occasional foliar feed with seaweed extract should be sufficient to get a good crop.

Yes, it does seem a little odd - hopefully this is just tradition standing in the way of progress! I've never used a foliar feed, so will give it a try this year. Thanks!
