plots for rent

Don't know whether anybody has heard about this:

it does seem rather expensive but if you were desperate  it might do for a short term solution?

If I remember correctly, Wyevale were doing the same thing at certain ones of their garden centres.  But yes, its very, very expensive.  Sounds like they're getting in on the bandwagon - supply and demand - hmmm, if anyone has any spare land, that's how to make some money 8)

Very expensive and only 1/3rd off a standard size plot.

Have heard of a former nursery on the Wirral charging £60/month but dont know how big or if you get shed or g/house

Yes, it is expensive, but I still think schemes like these are a good thing. Not everybody grows fruit and veg because they want to save money. Some people do it because they've worked in a city all their lives and they want to have a go at that growing stuff they've never tried, but need some support and help to do it. For people like that, these schemes are great, and once they've played with that for a year or two they'll maybe have the time and/or confidence to go out on their own with a proper allotment or similar.

They are providing an opportunity. Although I personally think it is incredibly expensive, no-one is forcing anyone to take up the opportunity--- some might feel it is worth it  :)
