Kids play area
« on: October 30, 2012, 11:07 »
The wife and I have decided to allocate an area of garden (the shadiest!) to an adventure swing slide combo for the kids! I shall be making a raised bed and filling with wood chippings. The area is now lawn (that is being a bit liberal with the truth). I shall cover with weed suppressing fabric first but should I also turn the grass or will the fabric be enough. I don't won't to use weed killer as hopefully when the kids are done with the area it will become a mini orchard, the wife doesn't know this yet  :D

Many thanks

I would have thought that weed membrane with wood chippings over the top would be enough to kill the grass off very quickly.  I wouldn't bother turning it.  The grass will rot down to a lovely loam ready for your new orchard ;-)
No matter how many plants I have in my garden, I can always find room for one more.

That has saved me a job! I think building the swings will be hard enough!
