Making the girls a dust bath - have some soil and sand in and going to add bit of DE for the lice etc but is it ok to put compost from my planters in?

My hens seem to think ALL my planters of compost were put there for their enjoyment !

Old compost will be OK.


Have you any means of keeping the dust bath dry and dusty instead of a mud wallow ?
