Winter Arrived ?????
« on: October 10, 2012, 07:53 »
Well it looks like Winter arrived this morning in the north east,

Air frost and ground frost - Not good !!!

My question is this:-

I still have some leeks and cabbages in the ground !
Should i pull and freeze them or will they be OK ???

Cheers,
Web
Keith

Leeks will be happy in the ground through the winter. It may depend slightly on which variety your cabbages are, how happy they will be, but bear in mind brussels sprouts are brassicas.

My marrow and courgette plants declared winter yesterday on the third light frost in a row. Today it's been more than a light frost.
