About to worm my chooks with flubenvet.'
« on: September 05, 2012, 20:27 »
Hi all, its time I need to worm my chooks again, and I have 4 chicks that are at least 3-4 months old, but they are still with their mum, and they do eat pellets easily, should I worm them as well?

I used flubenvet pellets for my chicks when they were about the same age and they were fine.   ;)

They were just the layers pellets with flubenvet already added.  I know they are not meant to have layers at that age but it was only for the week they were being wormed.  I get them from Farmway which is local to us.  Marriages also do pellets with flubenvet.

I get mine from farmandpetplace.co.uk as I haven't got a local supplier (they do 10kg and 20kg bags).

I asked my vet about giving flubenvet to my 11 week old chick and he said he wasn't sure so he phoned the manufacturer and they said yes they can be wormed, no problem.  They said chicks under 3 weeks old shouldn't need worming so any time after that is fine.  This information was given to me three days ago so is very up to date.  Hope this helps anyone who isn't sure.
