I have lots of bits of tree trunk in my garden and was wondering if its suitable to put this in my hens run as a place for them to perch

It should be fine as long as there is no sign of mould growth on it.   :)

I recently got a big one for my garden and they love it. They can put thier heads under it to find juicy slugs and stuff, keeps em happy for ages. They also like to perch and sunbathe on it,oh yeah and poop on it lol
Pull up a perch!!

Mine pose on the logs and sometimes you could get a really good photo if you had a camera handy when they all line up

I use bits of branch and logs as outdoor perches, as mention previously the girls all line up on them for an afternoon nap and having a few different levels in the run is more interesting than just flat space.
