chop all your cuttings and spread them back with bits of soil on top.

plus some rotted organic matters on top

thats what I will do

A bit of potash works wonders

If you have any rotted manure, you can make a slurry out of it and water it around the plants (never on the crown itself) and that'll give a huge boost, same with a bit of BFB for next season.

Hi Trillium - sorry to hijack the post but I have a bit of a situation with my strawbs.. I have them planted in holes in weed suppressant poly prop woven material sheet. I need to feed mine now so was wondering of the best method..

1. If I was to dib a few holes around the plants and pour some gen fert or BFB?
2. Pour on a load of liduid comfrey feed
3. Put on a layer of manure over the whole place and hope the rain takes it in..
4. Make a liquid mix and water it in through the fabric (water goes thru no probs)
5. Lift the fabric and spread around all under it like a top dressing.. this one would be a bit of a nightmare to do..

My pic is me pruning the old leaves off.. they are first year plants I grew from some runners I harvested last year..

Mine are all now in troughs at home (to stop the voles eating more than we do) and they will be getting slow release rose fertiliser  :D
