my 1 year old buff orpington has been sneezing looking abit snotty and has been hiding away from her friends the only time she comes out is to eat and drink i am a little worried about her as i dont have the sort of money to be paying for a vet what can i do to help her???

The problem with not going to the vet is that this could spread to your other hens too. 

Perhaps you could phone them and get a quote first which might help.  Also there might be something here that helps.

With anything like runny nose or breathing the farm I got mine from are licenced to administer meds ... They charge 5 pound for course of antibiotic ... Don't know if that is possible for you ... If not make sure the vet gives you full quote for everything and not like vet I saw when I went back the bill had almost tripled!!!!! So from about hundred to fix my duck it was more two hundred and eighty pound !!!!! Was hungry for the next month x
