Owing to recent illness I have about 50 well chitted seed potatoes which I will not be able to plant this year. If I remove the chits now, will they sprout again next spring?  How should I store them, some look a bit dehydrated.

no - you will need to eat them this year, they won't store another winter.

You could always try a few in the greenhouse bed or pots for Crimbo if there is no sign of rotting, but don't hold out too much hope as they may well be past it - probably are - sorry.

The dehydrataed look is due to the food store in the potato being used to grow the shoots. I would also be inclined to find somewhere to plant some. You may get a return for Christmas?
