How many more?
« on: July 09, 2012, 10:33 »
There are now 11 ketchup bottle marked topics to scroll through before we reach the interesting stuff. Time this was reorganised a bit me thinks?

The topics that are used everyday, and items considered important will always be at the top ;)

It's easy enough for you to scroll down, surely  :nowink:

So I am an old grouch!! Nobody has looked at seaweed since november!!

Some of the others such as daily harvest should perhaps have their own listing as does showbench and tomato variety. Same goes for sweet potato and compost.

If the ketchup topics were at the bottom of the page I would not have to scroll down.

One effect of having these 11 topics on that page is that some of the important questions, observations and topical problems soon leave the front page before they have had the airing that perhaps they deserve.

We did change the number of threads shown per page from 20 to 30 in January for that very reason Salmo (and no-one noticed, or if they did no-one posted about it as far as I'm aware!)  ::)

It's true that nobody has POSTED in seaweed since November, but, how do you know how many people have looked at it recently

Can't please all of the people all of the time, can you  :nowink:

Just so you know you're not on your own Salmo, I always scroll down on the first page. The weeds and blight threads are the only ones I look at of the ketchup topics.

I agree with Salmo - just lately I, too, have been thinking that  it was getting a bit busy up top - sorry Moderators - JMHO.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Well, I've read Davethespread's joke about the carpenter 23,336 times, and still think it's funny...;0)

Can the order of these be changed then, so the most recent is first?

In effect that's what happens Growster. Most can be posted to by anyone and a new post will bring that thread to the top of the list.

I've got this forum saved on "Unread posts since last visit"  so when I click on the link, it comes up straight away showing the posts or updates I haven't seen yet.

Okay, some manage to escape, but I can always then go into each one like grow your own and check anything I missed.

Werks for me   ;) ;)

Growster, If you change your forum preferences you can have the last post at the top of the page - if that's what you prefer.
