Oh Happy Day!
« on: November 07, 2007, 12:21 »
Got a phone call from the parish and I have an allotment!  :D  :D  :D

It's not one of the ones i was told last wek I owuld probably get, it's even better!  Its at the top end of the lottie ground so gets year round full sun, it has a shed and a green house both in reasonable nick though the greenhouse needs a new door.  There are currant bushes, an apple tree, raspberries and blackberries and an ancient gooseberry.  Some of it will ahve to come out to make room for veges as I grow fruit at home but its mine and I am a very happy bunny today!  :D

Tomorrow I will go down and measure everything up and draw up some plans.  I need to rabbit proof the plot and put a fence around the greenhouse as a first job, then I can fence the rest of the plot off to keep potential foster toddlers inside.

The plot is in reasonable nick, but lots of weeds and brambles, but was being dug over until only 6 months ago so shouldn't be too ahrd to clear (hopefully).

 :D  :D  :D  :D  Oh Happy Day!!  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

Take some pics. It's handy seeing how things progress.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

oh well done! :D   This is actually the best time of year to dig, clear and plan because you really aren't under the same pressure of planting at the same time to make the most of the summer!  Good luck!

Hey - congratulations!!! Been a long while coming, worth the wait though. Right time of the year for planning too.
