Hi I have nine mixed chicks which are now six days old. My light Sussex chick presented a sore eye today. Just the one which looked a bit watery and now she has it closed. Like I said its just the one eye the other is just fine. Could this be something bad or maybe just caught it maybe mum has done it when scratching for food. I'm so worried and don't know what to do. Xxx

it may have got pecked by accident, bathe it with cooled boiled water then keep a close eye on it as she may need a topical antibiotic.

Hi firstly thank you so much for replying. I have indicate just bathed it. I noticed as I swiped the eye something yellow popped up in the inside corner of the eye. I continued to swipe and it moved right over the middle. I have managed to get it out. Looks like it may he a seed or something. She has her eye open a little now so maybe that's it. Xxx
