Another celery question
« on: May 16, 2012, 10:40 »
Hello all,

I've searched the forum on growing celery and I'm still not sure I understand the best way to do it. Apologies if I'm being a bit slow on the uptake

I planted some in pots a while ago (self-blanching variety) and now I have loads of overcrowded seedlings about 4 inches tall. I read about planting in blocks but I'm still not sure I quite understand :(

Could anyone explain in words of one syllable what I need to do next (e.g. how to space them if 'blocking is best')?

First thing to do is prick out the seedlings and transplant them into either seed trays with a wider spacing, or individual modules to let them grow on a bit.

You could do a lot worse than follow the guidelines here:

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
