Incubator chicks..

Hello,


i was out today and when i got back, and had no eletric, now i have eggs in the incubator, and i dont know how long the power was out (I went out at 8AM and got back around 7PM)


So the point is.. will the eggs be OK?

no harm in keeping them going, it is only in very rare cases that the electric is off that long. Could you not ask the neighbours how long the power was off?

my neighbours, are out most of the day, but from wot i can see from msn messages, power went out before 10:26 AM

If you go to Brinsea incubators website, under the FAQ's there is a bit about "what happens if the power goes off" and the prolonged effects. (PDF File) Skip down to the bottom of page 2 which gives info on short term temprature changes.

that website says one hour, however I have had a broody hen off eggs for over four hours when the door closed when she was out eating.

Hi craig my broody was of the eggs a lot but still had a good hatch rate just keep them in and your fingers crossed  :)
