Newbie. HELP!
« on: March 16, 2012, 17:28 »
I am considering taking the plunge and get some hens i have read books/websites etc but im still a bit hesitant. I would probably get 4 hybrids. I could do with some advice on coops and runs i.e. best place to buy and size. I have 3 dogs so until i can be sure I can give the hens freedom safely they will be in a run so dont know if this means i need it lots bigger. My garden is concrete so what is the best to line the run with sharp sand/woodchips? Any help for a beginner would be much appreciated. Thanks  :)

Hi, totally agree with Tony H, my coop and run (before im bought extension) said suitable for 9 small/6 large hens, no way!!! i got 3 orpingtons and thats enough even with extension, by list description standards they may as well be in a cage, besides they are messy too
