« on: October 22, 2007, 14:42 »
i have ducks still to fatten up ready for the table .plus a half dozen mallard i inherited need some wieght on them if they are going to be ready for then .im doing a 7 bird in one this year starting at a turkey and going down to a partridge or pigeon i will explain a little about that in the cooking section at some point , i will be writing a couple of articles for the site on keeping ducks for begginers and also on turkeys with i hope some input from a nice lady friend from close to me that keeps a few birds for the table as i do . and  i have seen her set up and for the small keeper it  is excellent  and  for use by beginners without masses of expenditure .   i am sure there are others in the poultry section that have lots of usefull help for folks wanting to start with keeping birds  so here's hoping that they join in with the discussion. .plus im making a small boat .have a ride on mower to fix up plus other bits and bobs not planned that will come along without warning .

I am so jealous Munty. lost me bottle at keeping a couple of Turkeys. I love em and still go and talk to Terence and his missus when i go past. but so many people said that they get things from chooks that can kill em and that they also can carry nasties that can kill chooks. Fraid to say bottle went   :(
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!!

sorry to hear that frenchy . a lot of dodo is bandied about by idiots who pretend to know what they are talking about .if you keep turks and chucks or ducks its a risk you take with any diseases .at the end of the day its down to hygiene ,mine never had problems
