last year i tried growing some garlic in a raised bed. after a good start, they appeared to give up the ghost, and the leaves died back. so (ahem) i just left them alone, thinking i'd use the bed for something else this spring.

however, having gone to clear the bed out, the garlic is now regrowing! it doesn't appear to have multiplied, bulb style, as I've just got the one set of leaves sprouting at regular intervals where I planted the cloves over 1 year ago!

i'm leaving them alone to see what happens, but wondered if this was something anyone else had experienced, and whether the resulting bulbs are likely to be bigger/worse/more likely to rot than "normal" plantings?

they will flower this year, so even if they clove, they will not store for very long.

I'd be inclined to pull them as you need garlic from now on and use them 'green'

I've got the same, so I'm pleased you asked that because I'd have left them in for the season otherwise
