Back from the VET
O.K. WER' back from the Vet:  He went all over them with a stethescope 9mind ya, listend to their breathing, they do have a respitory problem, it's not in the lungs, it's  in their heads, witch is good, and he gave me Tylan Power #6.1/2 teas. per quat of water for 16 days.  Throw away eggs for 1 month.  After 16 days we make sure they are better and then give them Ivermectin for worms, mites ect. He checked poo and said they had worms and I wasn't sure because I haven't had them very long.  The one hen had the cold when I got them.  O.K> PRICE?  The Vet was with us for 1hour talked alot gave meds after checking the birds= $64.75 Well What do you think. Now I can call him anytime and he will give me meds anytime I told him about the site, and he said as long as I was sure of what I needed, he would give it to me so we don't stress the birds. How did I do?  I have checked previous posts I've read about the Ivermec. but not about Tylan.  Any opinons?

All sounds good to me Betty. USA vets much cheaper than in UK

What did he do to diagnose worms in poo (Professional interest here).

Tylan is a good alternative to Baytril.  What did he say was the cause of the breathing problem in the head, was it mycoplasma ?

Ivermectin is not licenced in the UK for poultry but you can read about it here

http://www.pekinbantams.com/ivomec.asp

Did the vet give an egg withdrawall time for it ?

Very very reasonable compared with what we would have had to have paid here in the UK Betty.

Since I wasn't sure of the last worming, I got them 6 months ago, and they eat earth worms, it's more than likly they have them. Prevenitive. The breathing problem he said it would take 2 weeks to culture, and tylan is brod spectrum, we would try it and let him know in 16 days how they are doing.  I have to hold the eggs for 30 days. he did say Micoroplasm(sorry about the spelling on that one)

No he didn't come to me, but he is only about 15min away that is why he would give me meds. for them he didn't want to stress them if I could figure out what meds they need I could just pick them up from now on.

The Vet has a saying  "Don't just live and let live, live and help live." I liked that.
