Vet Check Today!
« on: October 16, 2007, 16:43 »
Well, I'm getting my feet wet today!  Off to the Vet with 9 chickens.  I want to see what he has to say on a Check up.  Worms, colds, health in general.  Will post later.  Wish HIM luck!  and us too

Your vet wont be able to tell whether your birds have worms unless he does a post mortum.

You can tell yourself if the bird has a cold, a visit to a vet would cost an arm and a leg over here Betty.

A bit  :!:

No Bodger,  very, very, very expensive :!:

OH would charge about £35 a test and the vet would add his bit on

Only sensible for very valuable stock or very precious pets

I've been reading through these poultry pages for months to get an idea of what it would be like to own some chickens - how much it would cost, diseases to look out for, all the pros and cons. Have just added to the list of things I will need; marry a clinical parasitologist.

This may all take longer than I thought  :?
Oops a daisy!

Thanks Munty - I did read your bit on despatching a chicken too.

Chickens and hopefully bees are my project for the future. In the mean time I'll keep reading these pages every day.
