I wondered what was in the little parcels the turkeys had left for me.  No need to worry though I've still got some to hang up for Santa.

sorry ive not replied sooner hilfooter i have not been on for a while, the way you have suggested is pretty much identical to the method i use, i too find the process stressful and in all honesty i hate doing it but i find comfort in the fact that i have given them the best life i could posibly have given them, brought up free range outside with grass to forage and trees to climb and brought up naturally by their mother not used an incy or a brooder for them, and when i see programmes like the grow your own Christmas which was on this monday and i see the poor turkeys which were packed into the sheds it makes me feel happier knowing how mine have been raised.

Totally agree Massa, now I know how the commercial birds are reared and slaughtered, I couldn't eat another bird from a supermarket.  I try to avoid them if we are out for a meal too.

But we are running out of home and locally grown meat!    Yikes!!!!!!!
