White fly's on my Kale
« on: September 13, 2011, 12:00 »
Hi

I've just been to pick some kale, thats been growing since April, and its covered in white fly's that look like tiny moths.  Can I get rid of the fly's or am I best just pulling the kale up?

Thanks
Beth

Just leave them.  They are impossible to kill and will not damage the kale much.  It is a good idea to try and knock them off occaionally.  You just need to wash it well before eating!

You can spray with a soft soap with is supposed to help, but you don’t need to pull up the plants as the leaves can still be used after a good washing as long as you haven’t used any nasty insecticides. IMO
