If you mean Japanese Overwintering Onions for an early crop next year then right now!  Alternatively onions sets for planting in September should be available soon at the garden centre or mail order.

If you mean normal onions for next year, then the traditional early sowing day is Boxing Day.  Kleftiwallah is obviously dead keen or maybe just keen to escape to the greenhouse on Christmas morning

That's not an overwintering one.  You need seed that says Japanese and/or overwintering onion

I set my seed for Senshyu Yellow last weedend and they are just starting to show through.
