Parsnip julienne...?
« on: August 09, 2011, 20:09 »
Anyone tried this?

You see, for the first time, I've found out the right way to use a julienne cutter, and the parsnips are quite large, so I thought I'd ask if anyone else has tried it, before Mrs Growster starts using the damn thing on me...;0)

Are julienne's usually just for raw veg?  If so, I've never eaten raw parsnip ... would it go brown very quickly?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I really don't know Yorkie, but once, I had some very thinly cut and dry-roasted parsnip, which you could die for!

They were like enormous (and I mean as big as your hand), dry crisps...

Fantastic, and never seen again!

Juliennes are straw sized thin strips, not flat crisps

Does your cutter have different attachments so you can make crisps?

The julienne is just for the very thin strips KC.

I always used to bash the machine as hard as I could against the big carrots, and got a mish mash, whereas all it needs a gentle stroke...;0)

And if I get moderated on this, I'll start talking about our electric whipper...!
