I have a large composter in which I have added a bucket of hungry worms to speed it all up. The contents are mainly kitchen scraps with some lawn mowings. I have just dug out my now used Broad bean plants and beatroot leaves. Are these ok for the compost or best just put into the green wheely bin?

I would put in anything such as old veg leaves, haulms (idea to keep the roots of pea and bean plants in as their nitrogen-fixing roots nodules add nitrogen to the soil for next year's rotation crop) etc as long as there is no disease like blight present as you can get with potatoes and tomatoes. Make sure to add some "browns" like paper, cardboard, straw, manure etc for balance and aeration.
