 :lol:We were given 2 'ducks', 1 grey/white(male) the female white. Noticed they honked and did not quack, but thought nothing of that.  They were put in the small run at first, the hens and Colin the cockerel were not happy with the new birds. A week on we have let them out to be with the hens, no problems.  We have been told they are geese and not ducks, how embarrassing is that!  Do geese need any special care?

PS, this morning I put out Veg scraps and the girl goose, Carmen went up to a hen and took some tomato out of her beak, you should have seen the look of surprise on hens face!   

EDIT:
Friends popped in yesterday, Davids parents kept hens and ducks years ago. He said on first look they were geese, then later on maybe ducks.  I will try to post a photo in the next few days

I have heard the saying "all their geese are swans!"  but never all their ducks are geese

For any one wanting to keep geese but having an unsupportive partner this could be the answer!

Guess they need more space than ducks. They are supposed to be good guard dogs aren't they?
