Yup - it's almost certainly the too cold/windy/dry/wet (but mainly the cold) weather.

Yours still look better than mine though!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

will they still grew i no it gets very windy here but there's not a lot i can do about it

I stuck a couple of new seeds in last week because I lost a couple of squash plants in those high winds. It may be too late for them to fruit now, but I thought it was worth a try. I sowed them indoors to give them a fast start, just crossing my fingers for an indian summer.

I've done exactly the same. Got a fast maturing variety (Racer F1) and I'm just hoping for the best.
