I'm eating my second lot of strawberries fresh from the plot as I type.  There's nothing quite like the taste of the stuff you grow yourself.

How the heck have you got strawberries ripened outdoors already? I've got plenty of fruit on mine, but they're not even close to ripe yet.

That's just not fair. Have you been chanting druid spells or what?

Here in the 'Garden of England' we have been eating strawberries for two weeks now.
Even made strawberry conserve yesterday, from a recipe in  Val Harrisons book.
There is no better show of antisipation than a man sowing seeds in a field.

Simply different varieties, they're ready at different times, like spuds.

We've had some out of the back garden, but the main lot - the "Irresistible" on the plot are still filling out.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Irresistibles cropping nicely in Briz and they taste fabulous, so you've a treat coming very soon DD! :D

All my strawbs have been early this year. My only worry is that there won't be any left by the time Wimbledon arrives!  May have to watch it while eating scones with cream and homemade stawberry jam instead - such hardship!
