Hi
I've only had my girls for 2 weeks,this is my first attempt at keeping chickens,now some people tell me i should vaccinate against salmonela,we are selling most of the eggs as we become overrun with them,but the ones we keep are very nice. I have 5 Rhode island re x light sussex :wacko:

If you got your girls from a big reputable breeder or rearer, chances are they have already been vaccinated.

But vaccines are given before the hens reach point of lay.

There is more chance of salmonella from commercial flocks than from backyard hens, so sell your eggs and don't take any notice of people that don't know what they are talking about!

I've been selling and eating my eggs for 15 years on and off and haven't killed anyone yet!

At least I don't think so!  ;) ;) ;)
