Try and dig around one of the plants to see how they are going.

I dug my first plant the other day and we a good result but they were rather small so i think we need to wait another two weeks or so.

Happy digging....

Rather than dig, most folk on this site "furtle" - i.e. just have a feel with your hand, you're less likely to do damage.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I've only noticed the odd flower on mine, certainly not as many as some other varieties. I started a few in containers in the greenhouse in February and they've all been eaten. Fairly low yield and indifferent taste so not one I'll grow again.

ours have had a few flowers, but mostly nibbled by sparrows!  We've seen 'em at it!  Hope to eat a few spuds (not sparrows!) this weekend, but will take advice and furtle first - is that legal in this country?! ;)

Calling once again upon the British Potato Variety Database, we see that the flowers are white, but berries are absent.

http://varieties.potato.org.uk/display_description.php?variety_name=Pentland Javelin

To me this infers that they flower infrequently. (I grow them every year & to be honest I can't remember, I just go on the size of the plant and furtling!).
